Student Survey Results
St. Vincent High School recently conducted student opinion surveys. Every student in each grade was given a survey to complete. The survey’s asked questions regarding the quality of the instructional program, the support for student learning, school climate and environment, and student and school relationships.
Within the quality of the instructional program section, students were asked about their education thus far. This portion also covered questions about the courses students were offered, and courses they are currently enrolled in. It also put emphasis on the teachers and how they motivate and help their students. Most students agreed that the presented criteria was met.
The support for student learning section also asked about the teachers. Some of the questions asked if the teachers are willing to help their students in and out of classroom. It talked about the resources the school has or doesn’t have. It also talked about grading and advising. Most students agreed the criteria above was met.
The school climate and environment for learning section talked about school rules, classroom rules, and problems within the school. This section also asked about security within the school. Most students agreed that the criteria was met.
Lastly the student/school relationships section discussed the role the students have in the school. It focused on the activities, the decisions, and the sporting events. It asked how family members feel about the school and if they feel welcomed at the school. The majority of students responded agreed to this criteria.
