Conventions: 20%
The piece has correct spelling, punctuation, capitalization, usage, paragraph structure, and grammar.

Organization: 20%
The sequencing of events makes sense.

Sentence Fluency: 20%
The writing flows together smoothly.

Word Choice: 10%
The writer creates a picture in the reader's mind.

Voice: 10%
The voice of the author comes through, giving the sense of a real person speaking.
